Washington DC, USA – July 7, 2021

The SERI Board is pleased to announce the appointment of 9 new members to the R2 Technical Advisory Committee (TAC).  These new members have been appointed to fill vacancies left from previous TAC members that reached their term limit.  And while there were many qualified candidates that applied to be part of the TAC, the diversity in the experience and backgrounds of these individuals, from the regions they represent globally to the industry sectors they are part of, make these individuals ideal members to contribute to the work of the TAC.

While a key role of the TAC is to develop the R2 Standard, its near-term focus will be to continue to monitor the rollout and implementation of R2v3 and provide any guidance as necessary.  The TAC will also soon begin the important task of reviewing the R2v3 Standard and drafting changes for the future inclusion of requirements for photovoltaic/solar modules.

All of the new TAC members have valuable knowledge, experience and perspectives to contribute to the TAC, and will be essential in maintaining the R2 Standard through an open, balanced and consensus-based process.  These additions help to maintain a balance of representation across the three R2 stakeholder groups to avoid any dominance issues that would violate SERI’s ANSI Accreditation for standards development.

Joining the TAC are the following individuals and the stakeholder group they represent:

Entities Covered by the Standard:

  • A.L.N.Rao, Exigo Recycling Pvt Ltd, India
  • Jhoanna Rosales, Vertmonde, Ecuador
  • Patricia Whiting, Sims Lifecycle Solutions, USA
  • Tope Odeshi, The Initiates Plc., Nigeria

Customers of Entities Covered by the Standard:

  • Beth Johnson, Dell Technologies, USA
  • William Dampier, Best Buy Corporate, USA

Regulatory/Public Interest/Other Stakeholders:

  • Emmanuel Nyaletey, Confluence Technologies Ghana LLC, USA
  • Prasanna H R, Eign Consulting, India
  • Scott Marks, PA Recycling Markets Center, USA

The SERI Board would like to thank all applicants for their interest in the TAC.  And, while there are limited TAC positions available, continued participation in the R2 Standard setting process through public consultations and comment periods is encouraged.

Stakeholders interested in being considered for future TAC positions can apply at any time to be added to the list of candidates.  Further information on the TAC and the R2 standards Development process can be found at:  https://sustainableelectronics.org/r2/r2-standard-development/.
