Three organizations from different corners of the electronics ecosystem have stepped forward as Champions of eSummit 2025, highlighting how sustainability priorities are reshaping the industry from manufacturing through end-of-life management.
Google, one of the world's largest technology companies, brings extensive resources and influence to electronics sustainability initiatives. Beyond their core search and cloud services, Google has been advancing circular economy principles through expanded device repair programs, partnerships with independent repair shops, and sustainable product design across their hardware portfolio. Their broader sustainability commitments, from carbon-neutral operations to renewable energy investments, demonstrate how major tech corporations are integrating environmental responsibility across their entire business ecosystem.
Gierd, an intelligent unified marketplace-commerce platform, helps enterprise brands optimize their direct-to-consumer operations across marketplaces like Amazon, eBay, and Walmart. The Idaho-based organization specializes in complete commerce solutions, including returns and circular commerce, enabling brands to reduce waste through sophisticated resale and repackaging programs while maximizing product lifecycle value and driving measurable sustainability outcomes.
Sims Lifecycle Services processes millions of electronic devices annually for enterprise clients around the globe, from desktop assets to hyperscale data centers. The company is pioneering robotics-powered microfactory operations that transform component recovery from manual recycling into intelligent reuse, including the first large-scale redeployment of used memory in cutting-edge CXL infrastructure. Through programs like Rack Renew for OCP server circularity and rare earth magnet recovery from hard drives, Sims is proving that pre-owned equipment can meet production-grade standards while dramatically reducing the carbon footprint of IT infrastructure.
These three Champions represent the kind of cross-industry collaboration that eSummit aims to foster. Their direct support enables the eSummit to convene all the stakeholders who might not otherwise share the same room, from repair technicians to policy makers, from designers to recyclers, no matter how many other conferences they attend throughout the year. It's all the right people, all in one place, and it's made possible by the generous support of this year's eSummit Champions.
eSummit 2025 takes place September 8-11 at the Renaissance Minneapolis Hotel, The Depot. Registration and program details are available at electronicssummit.org.
