When an R2 certified facility changes locations, the new location cannot be listed on the SERI website directory until a revised R2 certificate listing the new address has been issued. Here are the steps certified recyclers must follow when moving their facility:
- Inform SERI of the move and complete a new R2 License Application for the new facility. Any time remaining on the license for the old facility will be transferred to the new location.
- Inform your Certifying Body of the move. The CB has discretion in determining how best to evaluate the changes associated with the move. They may decide on an off-site document review, a special on-site audit, or decide to evaluate changes in conjunction with a surveillance audit. When the CB is satisfied that everything is in order and the new site is operating in conformance with the R2 Standard, a “revised” R2 certificate reflecting the new address will be issued.
- The CB should forward a copy of the revised certificate to SERI so that the R2 database and website directory can be updated with the new address.
