SERI recognizes the growing role of mobile devices in the future of reuse and recycling electronics, and is currently seeking representatives from the mobile industry to add expertise to the R2 Technical Advisory Committee (TAC). Candidates can submit their interest and qualifications in writing by May 10, 2017. SERI staff will interview candidates and selections will be made by the SERI Board of Directors.
The TAC plays a central role in developing and drafting revisions to the R2 Standard. It meets regularly by phone in full and in smaller working groups. Candidates should plan on 2-3 conference calls per month, with additional time spent reading, preparing, and discussing potential changes with others. TAC members must be willing to attend in-person meetings held one to two times per year. Each TAC member may serve up to two three-year terms.
Representatives may include, but are not limited to, experts in refurbishing mobile equipment, mobile carriers, or other customers of R2 Certified mobile refurbishers. Anyone with a direct or material interest may submit a written application to SERI that sets forth (1) your interest in, qualifications for, and ability to contribute to the work of the R2 TAC; and any and all affiliations which might affect your interest category for representation on the R2 TAC. Interest categories are (1) Entities Covered by the Standard; (2) Customers of Entities Covered by the Standard; and (3) Regulatory/Public Interest/Other Stakeholders.
More information may be found on SERI’s website at https://sustainableelectronics.org/r2-standard/standards-development. Please send applications to corey@sustainableelectronics.org by May 10, 2017.
