The R2 Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) is nearing the end of its review of the public comments on the second draft of the R2v3 Standard. The 167 comments received addressed 70 different issues or aspects of the proposed Standard. The TAC has worked through the bulk of the comments and has determined that most of the comments can be addressed with clarification in Guidance, or with a few non-substantive changes made for better clarity.
One remaining issue in Appendix E is still under consideration and the TAC will be discussing this issue in the next couple of weeks. If the TAC makes any changes, those changes will be posted for another 45-day public comment period.
If the TAC decides not to make any further changes, the Consensus Body will hold a vote for the formal approval of the draft standard. Once approved by the Consensus Body, the draft standard will be forwarded to the SERI Board of Directors for review. If the standard is adopted by the Board, further information on the release date and implementation timeline will be provided.
