EDUCATION AND SKILL BUILDING PROGRAMS FOR RESPONSIBLE END OF LIFE MANAGEMENT OF ELECTRONICS, GLOBALLY
We recognize that a critical component of making electronics sustainable is ensuring that everyone everywhere has access to responsible reuse and recycling options. But today, in nearly every part of the world, there are significant gaps where this isn’t the case. Though in many places, people have stepped in to manage the e-waste problem their communities are facing, there are often gaps in access to information and education on how to properly handle electronics for reuse and recycling. This is why SERI is launching R2U.
R2U is a SERI Program focused on education and skill building, leveraging over a decade of knowledge gained from our administration of the R2 Standard. R2U is especially applicable for individuals and facilities who are interested in learning industry best practices.
At launch, R2U will focus on offering a series of courses to individuals to build their knowledge and skill base. Moving forward, SERI plans to launch the SEED Program within R2U, designed to educate and add best practices at the facility level.
