Data sanitization by downstream vendors

Q:   In R2v3 is there still the option of sending data-bearing equipment/components to a non-R2 Certified facility?

Yes, data containing equipment may be processed by a non-R2 facility, as long as the downstream vendor has been verified in accordance with Appendix A – Downstream Recycling Chain to perform the data sanitization.

Q:   Appendix A (8)(d)(2)(D) requires data sanitization audits for non-R2 DSV be conducted by an independent and competent auditor that has completed “SERI approved data sanitization training with maintenance through annual refresher training.” What are the approved data sanitization training courses?
