There was great turnout for SERI’s first Internal Auditor course, offered as a preconference session at the Electronics Reuse Conference that was held last month in New Orleans. The course was open to employees of R2 certified companies and companies in the process of becoming R2 certified.
The 2-day class, taught by an experienced R2 / ISO lead auditor and trainer, helps facility managers and internal auditors to better understand the documentation and records that a certifying body auditor will expect to see during an audit. The course also addresses common implementation challenges, and provides guidance on how to structure an internal audit.
Because of the high level of interest in Internal Auditor training, SERI plans to hold more sessions in 2018 in conjunction with other conferences. Comments from participants:
"The trainer broke down each Provision of the R2 Standard in an understandable manner, and explained how different provisions are linked. Thoroughly enjoyed the training. Opened my eyes to a lot of gaps we have in our structuring."
"Liked the flow of the class, interaction with other participants, and sharing ideas. Overall, great class. Informative even for a Management Representative."
